Peri-Natal Mental Health

There Is Room for How You Are Feeling, Too

Preparing for a baby or becoming a parent can bring many emotions, sometimes all at once. Alongside love and anticipation, you may experience anxiety, sadness, guilt, uncertainty or a sense that life feels very different from what you expected. You can care deeply about your baby and still find this time difficult. Struggling does not mean you are failing as a parent.

Perinatal mental health support provides space to focus on your wellbeing before and during pregnancy, and after birth. We can support people experiencing antenatal or postnatal anxiety and depression, fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, premature birth and the adjustment to parenthood. Fathers and partners may also need support as they navigate their own feelings and changing roles.

Supporting You as You Find Your Way

We take time to understand your experience without judgement. Together, we can explore what feels difficult and develop practical, evidence-based strategies for managing worry, low mood and overwhelming emotions. Support may also include navigating changes in your relationship, communicating your needs and finding manageable routines that make everyday life feel more supported.

For parents with a baby, therapy can also explore connection: noticing your baby’s cues, responding to their needs and finding moments to talk, play and interact. This is about gradually getting to know each other, rather than getting every interaction right. Your needs matter within that relationship, too.

Whether you are preparing for parenthood, adjusting to life with a baby or making sense of a difficult experience, you deserve care and understanding. Our team can offer support as you find an approach that works for you and your family.
