Child Behaviour and Parenting Support
When Family Life Feels Like a Constant Battle
Frequent arguments, strong reactions or difficulties with boundaries can leave you feeling exhausted and unsure of what to try next. If your child is showing oppositional behaviour, anger, aggression or other behavioural difficulties, everyday routines can become stressful for everyone. Seeking support is a way to better understand what is happening and find strategies that suit your family.
Paul works with families to identify both their strengths and the areas where they need support. This includes exploring the situations in which difficulties arise, how family members respond to one another and what may be contributing to the behaviour. The aim is to help you respond with greater understanding and confidence, while working towards a more connected and manageable home life.
Finding an Approach That Fits Your Family
Support is tailored to your child’s age, needs and circumstances. Sessions may involve your child and you together, include other family members or focus primarily on supporting you as a parent. Paul can help you develop practical approaches to communication, boundaries and responding to challenging behaviour.
Paul generally works with families where the child’s wellbeing and caregiving arrangements are not the subject of an ongoing legal matter. If there are current legal proceedings relating to these issues, please mention this when enquiring so he can discuss your circumstances before an initial appointment. Where another service would better meet your family’s needs, he may suggest a referral.
You do not need to have all the answers before seeking support. Paul can help you make sense of the difficulties and explore steps towards family life that feels calmer and more connected.
