Clinical Supervision for Psychologists Central Coast NSW

As we all know, clinical supervision is a collaborative process that is integral to our training and professional development and identity as psychologists, whatever our stage of career.

We strive to provide a warm, safe, and welcoming space in supervision for you to discuss cases, reflect on your work, share your vulnerabilities as a clinician, and to develop yourself and your practice.

We really enjoy working with other Psychologists and offer supervision for ongoing professional development, as well as supervision for endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.

We are AHPRA certified supervisors of the 6+2 Clinical Psychology training pathway (Registrar Program). Our practice also runs a monthly peer supervision group, which you can access if you attend individual supervision with either of us.

A little about us…

Alex Corcoran

I enjoy supervising early career psychologists as well as experienced psychologists. I mainly offer supervision on a Wednesday via Telehealth however I am also available for supervision on other days in my office in Terrigal.

I am a Clinical Psychologist who has worked in private clinical psychology practice since the early 2000s. I work with a wide range of individuals – including those seeking symptom reduction through short-term interventions, as well as longer-term therapy for more complex presentations.

I have worked in public health and educational settings – including child and adolescent mental health, and adult mental health (public sector inpatient mental health hospital and in a community mental health team), and as a therapist on university-based clinical trials focussed on the assessment and treatment of anxiety and depression, and child behaviour problems and parenting. I currently work one day per week as a clinic supervisor for a university.

Presently, most of my work is psychotherapy with older adolescents and adults. I am primarily CBT-trained but am integrative in my approach and draw from different models including CBT, CFT, Schema-focussed, ACT, DBT, and attachment literature. I am trained in and regularly use EMDR therapy and hold the ANZAED Eating Disorder accreditation.

I am experienced with most aspects of owning a small business and running a small group practice, and love to support others in their work. If you are interested in meeting with me, I would welcome the opportunity to talk further. My email is alex@movingforward.net.au.

Janene England

I have been practicing as a Clinical Psychologist since 2006. I have worked predominantly with adult mental health and have more than 16 years of experience working in inpatient facilities. I predominantly work with individuals presenting with a range of acute mental health difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, bereavement, adjustment difficulties, psychosis, and personality disorder. I have a particular interest in eating disorders and hold the ANZAED Eating Disorder accreditation.

Over my years with public health, I was seconded to a psycho-oncology position and was actively involved in preparing and providing various in-service presentations to mental health staff and students. Since joining the Moving Forward team in 2019, I have now found my home here in private practice.

I am predominantly CBT-trained with an affinity to compassionate-focussed CBT and ACT. I have completed training in these therapies, as well as DBT, CBT-E, and Maudsley Based Family Therapy for Eating Disorders.

I have been a primary clinical supervisor of provisional psychologists and new graduates since 2014. With my supervisees, I aim to provide a relationship which will foster skill development, self-reflection, and a healthy self-confidence. Self-care is something I always check in on, and I aim to provide a supportive space where the demands of our work can be acknowledged. Please feel welcome to contact me for further discussion at janene@movingforward.net.au.
