Yoga and mental health

There is a growing body of research suggesting that yoga can be beneficial for improving mental health. Here are a few examples:

Anxiety: Studies have shown that practicing yoga can reduce symptoms of anxiety. A 2018 study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that participating in a 12-week yoga program reduced symptoms of anxiety in participants.

Depression: Yoga may also be helpful for reducing symptoms of depression. A 2017 study published in the Journal of Psychiatric Practice found that a 10-week yoga program was associated with reduced symptoms of depression in participants.

PTSD: There is also some evidence to suggest that yoga can be helpful for people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). A 2018 study published in the Journal of Traumatic Stress found that yoga was associated with reduced PTSD symptoms in veterans.
